Our two youngest blogging club members Xander and Kai successfully left two comments each this week on the blog. Well done boys, let’s try 3 next time.

This week the children enjoyed making their names, caterpillers, snails and even a pizza!

This week we had a break from cookies and the children instead made some fantastic playdough models.

They ranged from birds, funny faces and people including Josh creating his cousin Lexi

Some year 3′s and 4′s showed fantastic team work when making their cookies. They all even did the washing up together! Well done boys.

Trainee bloggers at work!

The Story Lab Summer Reading Challenge

We had a very special guest at our WOW Assembly on Monday:  Beatrice from Crediton Library came along to tell us all about this Summer’s Reading Challenge and invited everyone to take part.

Remember that there is absolutely no charge for membership of our local Library, and all the events and awards linked to the Summer Reading Challenge are FREE!  So, if you are not yet a member of the Library just take along a parent or carer the first time you visit.  You will find a very warm welcome and of course lots and lots of lovely books!

The theme for this year’s challenge is the “Story Lab” where there are some unusual characters such as Professor Cortex and Aesop the Kung-Fu Cat!  As you read each book you will collect stickers and earn medals to keep.  THE READING CHALLENGE IS LAUNCHED ON SATURDAY 14th JULY AND TO COMPLETE IT YOU NEED TO READ SIX BOOKS BY FRIDAY 31st AUGUST.

Come along to our School Library if you need any further information, there are posters on display showing some of the exciting events planned to promote the challenge and keep you enjoying books and reading through the long Summer holidays.  Why not relax in the garden or on the beach with a good book, and enjoy all the lovely sunny (?) weather.  On the other hand, an exciting story is a great way to spend a long, wet afternoon should we have any!
