1:1 Teaching Assistant KS1 - Fixed Term

Hours: 15 hours per week – 5 x mornings

Salary: NJC C grade 5, £12.18 per hour (£23,500 FTE)

We are seeking to employ a teaching assistant from September to support the learning and social emotional needs of an individual pupil in Key Stage 1 (Year 1) during the mornings.  This will be a fixed term contract while the child remains at our school or until they move to specialist provision.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for:

  • Developing pupils’ Social, Emotional and Mental Health Skills.
  • Working with class teachers and other teaching assistants to provide effective support in the classroom.
  • Working with parents/carers where required.
  • Supporting the delivery of the curriculum and helping the child access it appropriately.
  • Contributing to Education Health Care Plan meetings and review/writing of Relational Support Plans.
  • Contributing to My Plan meetings with SENDCo.

The successful applicant will work under the direction of the class teachers, SENDCO and school leaders to lead and organise activities for the pupil within the Key Stage 1 unit.  They will support their specific learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs at an appropriate level for the individual to be able to access the curriculum and have a safe and enjoyable experience in school.
