Times Tables Rock Stars!

At Hayward's, we use Times Tables Rock Stars to develop quick recall of our multiplication tables. We start this in Year 3! We set up battles between classes and year groups, as well as games to play at home. Children in KS2 should complete 30 minutes on TTRS per week and we recommend  5-10 minutes a night in order to gain quick recall of these key facts. It is an expectation that children will play a minimum of 3 garage games and children in Years 4-6 complete 1 sound check every week.

Children in Year 1 and Year 2 use Numbots to help with the recognition of number and the recall of key facts, starting with addition and subtraction facts. Again, we recommend that children use Numbots little and often to help with recall. It is an expectation for Year 1 children to complete 20 minutes of homework per week and Year 2 children are expected to complete 30 minutes.

Homework engagement is monitored by the class teacher.
