Charity Events

At Hayward's we are always trying to help others. Our School Council do a wonderful job of coming up with ideas which are well supported by the whole school community. Just see what we have done!

In 2018-2019 we supported the following organisations and helped raised some amazing amounts:

ACHING ARMS - https://achingarms.co.uk/

AMOUNT RAISED - £346.40

Aching Arms is a baby loss charity run by a group of bereaved mothers who have experienced the pain and emptiness of leaving hospital without their baby. This charity was suggested by a pupil in year 2.

CHAT (CHURCHES HOUSING ACTION TEAM) - https://chatmid.org/
AMOUNT RAISED - £143.20

CHAT (Churches Housing Action Team) was founded by Christians who were concerned by the large number of people experiencing housing difficulty in Mid Devon. We believe that everyone is entitled to decent, secure and affordable housing – somewhere to call home.

ROTARY SHOEBOX APPEAL  - https://www.rotaryshoebox.org/

We agreed to support the Rotary's mission to 'spread a little happiness to disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe'. We filled numerous shoeboxes, filled with gifts, to Romania to brighten up the lives of children at Christmas.

CANCER RESEARCH - RACE FOR LIFE - https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/

AMOUNT RAISED - £2,652.45

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. This charity was suggested by two pupils in Year 6. With the help of the school sport's council, all children at Hayward's were involved in raising invaluable funds.
